Destinies: Huaraz, Cordillera Blanca.

This is one of the most famous treks in the world. It compares with trekking Anapurna. Our route puts you in spectacular mountains. In two or three days walking you will be in the heart of the Andes out of sight of modern civilization.

DAY 1: ARRIBAL IN HUARAZ

  • Arrival to Huaraz, capital of Ancash. Transfer to hotel for rest and acclimatization.

DAY 2: LAGUNA 69

  • Pick up from hotel at 6:30 am.
  • Headed to Laguna 69 (approximately 4 hours duration) you will observe the beautiful Llanganuco lakes and the stunning views of the valley of Huaylas.
  • Arrive in Cebollapampa from which you will start walking for about 3 hours to climb up to Laguna 69. You will take a break and lunch.
  • The fall will be of approximately 2 hours.
  • Return to Huaraz by car.

DAY 3: HUARAZ - CHIQUIAN - LLAMAC - MATACANCHA

  • Departure from the hotel at 05:30. Transportation to Chiquian and then to Llamac. This will be a six hours walk day, until the Matacancha, which we will install the first camp.

DAY 4: MATACANCHA - PASO DE CACANAMPUNTA - LAGUNA DE CARHUACOCHA

  • Breakfast at 7:00 to begin the walk at 8:30 am.
  • The day begins with a climb to the PASO DE CACANANPUNTA, it begins to descend from the outside and then climb to the paso Punta Carhuac (4650m) from where you can see the Yerupaja Huayhuash nevado and down in a southerly direction the Carhuacocha lagoon at (4100m.) a good place to camp for the fourth night.

DAY 5: LAGUNA CARHUACOCHA - CASERIO DE HUAYHUASH

  • It comes down to the Queropalca river to rise in a southerly direction to the lagoons in Atocshaico (4600m.), to reach the village of Huayhuash, six hours will be enough to finish the fifth night of camp.

DAY 6: HUAYHUASH - LAGUNA VICONGA

  • It is of course to Portachuelo Huayhuash (4800m.), to make way for the imposing Carnicero mountains, Jurau and Trapecio and then to see from the hill the Raura mountains.
  • Then in a southerly direction to lower the lake Viconga and turn toward the northwest to the Cuyoc hill. After 10 minutes of walking we'll find the Putka hot springs.
  • As a time of rest, take a relaxing bath which will be the end of the sixth camp day.

DAY 7: VICONGA - HUANACPATAY

  • It is the Cuyoc hill climb Cuyoc (5000m.) on the road watching the south side of Puscanturpas. Then, at the top you will see the nevados of Huayhuash, Yerupaja, Rasac, Siula to start down toward the west into the ravine Huanacpatay of long and extensive meadows, watching the end of the rocky west face of Puscanturpa (5442m).

DAY 8: HUANACPATAY- HUATIAQ

  • This 8-hour day begins going down to the town of Huayllapa then going up through a narrow valley that gets wider near Punta Tapush, where the day end.

DAY 9: HUATIAQ - LAGUNA JAHUACOCHA

  • The road rises as to clear the pass of Punta Tapush (4800m.), then going down to the Susococha lagoon and then going up to pass Punta Yaucha (4847m.) where you will see the western slope of Yerupaja and Jirishanca.
  • The hill gives way to the Gorge Huacrish taking the river of the same name that takes us to the Jahuacocha Lakes where we will have our ninth day of camp.

DAY 10: LAGUNA JAHUACOCHA - LLAMAC - HUARAZ

  • Return to Llamac and then to Llamac. Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

DAY 11: HUARAZ - LIMA

  • This day you will enjoy a deserved rest, knowing and walking along the quiet streets of the city of Huaraz. At 11:00 p.m. take the bus from Lima to Huaraz.
