Destinies: Lima - Nazca - Arequipa - Cusco - Puno

Perú: Three Ways of knowing it (Colonial, Pre-Inca and Inca). Enjoy a trip full of culture, folklore and live cultures. A unique tour visiting the main tourist destinations where you will find the contrast of the different eras Peru has experienced.

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN LIMA AND LIMA CITY TOUR

  • You will be welcomed at the airport and then transferid to the chosen hotel.
  • The route begins in the historic center of Lima, including the Paseo de la República , Plaza San Martin and Plaza Mayor, with its distinctive buildings: the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the Cathedral and Palace. Enter the monumental Convento de San Francisco , which is the largest sample of colonial religious art in America . The Chamber Choir and the library of the monks will be appreciated, the Sacristy, The Grand Courtyard of the Main Board and the Underground Crypts, known as the catacombs, where you will feel the presence of the colonial past .
  • Return to hotel and overnight there.

DAY 2: PACHACAMAC AND LIMA CITY TOUR

  • Guided visit to the splendid and vast archaeological citadel of Pachamac. It includes pyramidal temples and enclosures built by several pre-Columbian cultures and the Incas. They are the temple of Pachacamac , the Sun worship of the god and the palace of the chosen women, the Virgins of the Sun.
  • In the afternoon: Tour of the Museum site to save the idol of the god Pachacamac. The whole place is considered sacred and part of the mystical axis of the world.
  • At night: A journey through the residential areas of Lima San Isidro, Miraflores, Larcomar, The love Park, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean . Return to hotel, overnight

DAY 3: NAZCA LINES

  • In the morning the journey will be undertaken to the city of Nazca , located at about six hours from Lima . Visit the Mary Reich Museum Site, where the guide will relate the enigmatic Nazca lines, construction and beliefs of the ancient inhabitants of the Nazca culture .
  • Then you will be on a flight over the lines, where you could see th different shapes, among the most popular we have the hummingbird, the condor and the monkey .
  • Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

DAY 4: AREQUIPA

  • We will go to the bus terminal to go to Arequipa , the second capital of Peru highlighted by sillar constructions dating from the colonial era.
  • At the arrival, transfer to the hotel to rest. For dinner, you will enjoy the typical food from Arequipa in a traditional picanteria.

Day 5: AREQUIPA AND CITY TOUR

  • Tours will be led by a city of Arequipa, known as the "White City" for its beautiful white walls of ashlar (volcanic stone). The Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral Church of the Company, the oldest in the city, with its beautiful facade and mestizo Chapel of St. Ignatius, the most impressive multicolored murals of the region, and the famous Monastery of Santa Catalina, a city with narrow cobblestone streets and beautiful courtyards and plaza. Then journey through the picturesque surroundings of this city where you may see temples and colonial baroque style .
  • For dinner you will be taken to enjoy the cuisine of Arequipa in a traditional picantería.
  • Overnight at the hotel .

DAY 6: COLCA VALLEY

  • Departure to the Colca Canyon, passing through the peaks of Chachani, Yura, small valley with thermal baths; you will see the national reserve of vicunas, alpacas and llamas in Pampa Cañahuas, some birds such as flamingos, ducks, andean eagle until you reach the Volcano Observatory and the snow of Patapampa (4, 800 meters above sea level (15, 000 ft )
  • Visit the villages of Ampato, Sabancaya, Walca Walca among others.
  • Lunch at a tourist restaurant in Chivay, in this town you will find hot springs (entrance not included). Overnight

DAY 7: RETURN TO AREQUIPA

  • Morning excursion will be taken to complete the left bank of the valley and visit typical cities like Yanque and Macao , plus the colonial church. You may see in the journeys hundreds of pre Inca terraces that are now used by Andean farmers to plant corn, quinoa and kiwicha .
  • Once at the observation post of the cross of the condor: you can appreciate the depth of the canyons and if you're lucky we can also see the magnificent flight of the condor.
  • In the afternoon you will be taken back to Arequipa at around 6:00pm.

Day 8: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO AND CITY TOUR

  • Transfer to the airport to take a flight to Cusco , once you arrive in th “Archaeological Capital of America” you will be taken to the hotel.
  • In the afternoon visit the ancient capital of Tahuantinsuyo with the Cathedral, the Plaza de Armas and Iglesia de Santo Domingo ; Koricancha or Temple of the Sun. Later, you will visit the surroundings, the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, important center of worship and offerings, Puka Pukara, former defense and guard post of worship surrounding the so-called "Baños del Inca" in Tambo Machay.
  • Returning to Cusco , enjoy a specially prepared dinner show for your enjoyment .

DAY 9: SACRED VALLEY

  • After breakfast start your excursion to the village of Pisac , located at 32km from Cusco .
  • Lunch in Urubamba and visit the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • When finished, return to Cusco.

*Note: This tour is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

DAY 10: OVERNIGHT AT MACHU PICCHU

  • Scenic train ride through the Urubamba Valley followed by 30 minutes by bus to the stunning " Lost City of the Incas: Machu Picchu .
  • Guided tour of the famous ruins where you will be explained the different theories of the use of the citadel, as well as their way of life.
  • Free afternoon to enjoy the city.

DAY 11: RETURN TO CUSCO

  • Morning free to visit again the ruins, visit the Orchid Park or baths.
  • After lunch we will undertake to return to the imperial city.

DAY12: ARRIVAL IN PUNO

  • Bus departure to Puno, visiting the San Pedro de Andahuaylillas church on the road, with its beautiful chapel built by Jesuits in 1580. Also, visit Raqchi, with tis templo of the god Viracocha, and the ruins of Pucará. Salida en bus turístico a Puno, visitando en el camino la iglesia de San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, con su hermosa capilla construida por jesuitas en 1580. Además, visitará Raqchi, con su templo del dios Viracocha y, las ruinas de Pucará.
  • The lunch buffet will be on the route.
  • Upon arrival to Puno, transfer to hotel, overnight.

DAY 13: TITICACA LAKE: UROS and TAQUILE ISLANDS

  • Full day excursión by boat to Taquile Island , located at 36km east of Puno. Along the way, visit the floating reed islands of the Uros Indian, ancient ihnabitants of the Titicaca lake, the highest navigable lake of the world. Excursión de día completo en lancha a la Isla Taquile , situada a 36 kms. al este de Puno. En el camino, visita a las islas flotantes de totora de los Indios Uros, antiguos habitantes del Lago Titicaca, el lago navegable más alto del mundo.
  • Enjoy a typical lunch prepare especially for your enjoyment.
  • Return to Puno. Overnight.

DAY 14: DEPARTURE CUSCO

  • Transfer to the airport to take a flight to Lima.
