DAY 1: IQUITOS / EXPLORAMA LODGE

  • Reception at your hotel or airport and transfer to jetty Explorama.
  • Travel the Amazon River, 80km from Iquitos to the Explorama Lodge.
  • In the afternoon, excursión to “Camino de la Cocha ” through the flooded forest, which at times it is covered by rising waters during this season and the trip takes place in open boat.
  • At night after dinner there is a chance to visit the bar “ La Tahuampa ”, and to listen to live local music, or the guides will be happy to relate some of the many legends or stories of the Amazonian forest.

DAY 2: EXPLORAMA LODGE

  • Morning walk along the “Trocha de la Shushupe ” where scientific studies done by the Missouri Botanical Garden , have found the largest bio-diversity of trees per square hectare.
  • In the afternoon, open boat ride over the Amazon river to try to observe the two species of freshwater dolphins, also chance to swim.

DAY 3: EXPLORAMA LODGE / EXPLOR NAPO LODGE

  • After breakfast, there will be a boat to travel down the Amazon river and the upstream on the Napo river into the reserve of primary forest in the ExplorNapo Lodge.
  • In the afternoon, visit to the Ethnobotanic Garden “RenuPeru”, located alongside the ExplorNapo and served by a local shaman. This garden will show visitors a variety of medicinal plants used in the medicine today, as well as assessing some of the medicinal plants that may be used in the future.
  • At night, excursion by open boat in the stream of Sucusari, to try to find alligators at night and enjoy the sounds of the rain forest and admire the Stara of the south.

DAY 4: EXPLORNAPO LODGE

  • In the morning, walk to the Birdge, which has an altitude of 35 meters and extendí 500 meters long. The bridge is accesible to anyone and requires no especial skills or equipment. Includes a stop to try to fish with rod and have the opportunity to swim.

DAY 5: EXPLORNAPO LODGE / CEIBA TOPS

  • Morning excursion to visit a village.Por la mañana excursión para visitar un pueblo ribereño.
  • In the afternoon road trip to Ceiba Tops, where there are rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms and hot water. You will pass by the town of Francisco de Orellana , where there is a statue in memory of the first European who discovered the Amazon River in 1542.

DAY 6: CEIBA TOPS

  • Boat excursion to the native community of Yagua, where there will be an opportunity to see some local craft and also a demonstration of the use of blowgun which some of the current Yagua members still use it for hunting.
  • Returning to Ceiba. You will have the opportunity to observe dolphins in freshwater (gray and pink)
  • In the afternoon walking tours by a beautiful primary rainforest reserve.

DAY 7: CEIBA TOPS / IQUITOS

  • Opportunity for a walk or open boat ride or just rest in the hammock house.
  • In the afternoon, return to Iquitos for the flight to Lima.
